About the Yazaki Corporation
Yazaki was first established around 1938 when Sadami Yazaki formed Yazaki Densen Eigyo-bu, a joint stock company, and began producing general electric wires and wire harnesses in Tokyo, Japan. During the early 1940’s, Yazaki Densen Eigyo-bu acquired Densen Eigyo-bu and re-established themselves as Yazaki Densen Kogyo K.K. The company later established their head office in Minato, Tokyo, and subsequently created a new factory to begin producing the first vinyl electrical wires in Japan for use within automobiles. Leading into the 1960’s, Yazaki Densen Kogyo K.K. continued to create various factories and began expansion into foreign markets, establishing branches in other countries. In 1963, the company changed their name to Yazaki Corporation and would later commence the manufacturing of a variety of products such as LP gas alarms, solar water heaters, automotive junction blocks, and more. from the 1970’s to the 1990’s, Yazaki oversaw great overseas growth with sales rising about 30 times in size. Currently, their main business market is within the automotive industry in regards to electrical distribution systems, electronics & instrumentation, and components.
