About Daimler
Daimler first began in 1921 through a signed agreement between Benz & Cie and Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft, both automobile and engine manufacturers. In 1926, the two companies merged to become Daimler-Benz AG and established the Mercedes-Benz brand name. During World War II, Daimler-Benz produced various engines that served aircraft, submarines, and tanks, as well as developed other supplies. In 1998, Daimler-Benz and the Chrysler Corporation merged, serving as the world’s largest cross-border deal at the time. Later, in 2007, Daimler sold Chysler to Cerberus Capital Management and then renamed themselves to Daimler AG. Leading up to the present, Daimler has invested much of their attention into the future of automated cars and ridesharing. Daimler has also announced that they would stop development of the internal combustion engine in order to solely focus on electric vehicles.
