About Deutz Corporation

Deutz’s history can be traced to N.A. Otto & Cie, a company established in March 1864 by Nicolaus Otto. as the inventor of the four-stroke internal combustion engine, he wanted to focus on the production of stationary engines. This company was involved in much of the early advancements in the field of air- and liquid-cooled engines, diesel engines, and more. Throughout the 20th century, Deutz continued to produce diesel engines, partnering with Volvo to provide them with medium-sized diesel engines in the four to seven liter range.
