About Molex

Molex was first established 1938, first manufacturing products from a plastic called Molex that the creator, Frederick A. Krehbiel, developed. During the 1940’s, one of the founder’s sons joined the company and realized that Molex plastic would serve as a great insulator and soon after, Molex was used to create connector assemblies for Hotpoint and GE appliances. Through the following years, Molex continued expanding their products, creating connectors, nylon plug-and-receptacle lines, and more. Through the 1960’s and beyond, Molex began growth overseas in countries such as Japan. In 2013, Molex was acquired by Koch Industries and they retained their name while acting as a subsidiary. In 2016, Molex had acquired Phillips-Medisize which now operates as Molex’s own indirect subsidiary.
