About Siemens AG
Siemens AG’s story began in full in 1966 through the merger of Siemens & Halske AG, Siemens-Schuckertwerke, and Siemens-Reiniger-Werke AG. In the years leading up to their merger, the various businesses had their histories and innovations in products such as long distance telegraph networks, airplanes for WWI deployment, AC alternators, electric trains, light bulbs, radios, TVs, and more. During this time, each company also had many projects that expanded into foreign markets such as Russia, the UK, and beyond, solidifying them as successful and expanding electric businesses and manufacturers. Through the 1980’s and 1990’s, Siemens began acquiring multiple businesses and expanded their sectors and with their acquisitions, Siemens joined and strengthened their market reach in areas such as avionics, personal computers, energy, electronics, and more. During this time, Siemens AG had many achievements under their belt such as building the MRT services in Singapore and Austria, becoming second in the world for the power generation market with their various energy sectors, and continuously expanding their portfolio of products, services, and market reach. During the 2000’s and leading up to the present, Siemens AG began developing more products for their new markets including hearing aids, mobile phones, diagnostic imaging systems, airfield ground movement radars, and power generation equipment. Currently, Siemens has been seeing continued success and expansion with their acquisitions and energy development in multiple countries worldwide, as well as remains the largest industrial manufacturing company in Europe.
