About Yamaha
Yamaha first began in 1887 as a piano and organ manufacturer that operated by the name Nippon Gakki Co. Ltd. The company was later incorporated in 1897, and much of their early history focused on the production of musical instruments. It was not until after WWII that the company’s purpose shifted towards the production of automotives such as motorcycles. With the great success of their motorcycles, Yamaha founded Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd., a separate company that would focus on such vehicles. Leading into the present and throughout their history, Yamaha has grown to serve as the world’s leading musical instrument producer, along with their other provided products. Through the 1980’s and into the 2000’s, Yamaha oversaw multiple acquisitions of businesses, the release of the world’s first CD recorder, as well as growth within their musical instruments and technology sectors. Alongside their musical instruments and the inception of Yamaha Motor Co., there has been much growth in their diversification of motorized vehicles including performance bikes, boats, golf cars, and more. Currently, Yamaha continues to grow and consolidate its various sectors as well as develop products.
